Vtg Japanese Young Guard Hina Doll
This vintage young guard (zuishin) hina doll with a handsome face wearing a vibrant orange kimono is the perfect addition to any existing hina set. He has all accessories including: hat, sword, bow, a pair of loose mochiya arrows, and a set of arrows for his back. The head is masterfully sculpted, coated with gofun, and painted to perfection. The rest of the body is made of wood or composite, and he sits on a peg.
This piece is from a high-quality Kyoto-style set.
The Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) in Japan is a traditional event celebrated on March 3rd every year, primarily to wish for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Hina dolls are an essential part of Hinamatsuri and are prominently displayed in homes during the festival.
