Vintage Japanese Stamp

This is a vintage Japanese rubber stamp mounted on a wooden base. This stamp features Japanese characters written vertically and a Bonji Sanskrit character on top. The text is related to homa or goma fire rituals held at temples in Japan. This stamp was likely used to print small wood pieces used as offerings during the ritual. The stamp featured a wooden handle for easy use. This stamp can be used as a decoration or a tool for your creative work.

• Item Weight: 73 grams

• Approx. 16.3 cm long x 2.6 cm wide x 5.3 cm tall (design is approx. 15.6 cm long x 2 cm wide)
• Good condition considering age. Cracks on the dried-out rubber, but no flaking at time of listing. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
• Acquired at the famous Osu antique market in Nagoya, Japan
