Japanese Lacquered Wooden Haribako
This is a Japanese sewing box, also called Haribako. A lacquered dark reddish-brown in color, it is decorated with a handpainted makie design of colorful floral temari balls. This tansu chest has six drawers with metal hardware. The top drawer contains a covered compartment at the back. This beautiful piece can also be used for storing jewelry or other trinkets.
