Vtg Japanese Ceramic Dog Zodiac Decoration

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic figurine of a dog in a pale green color mimicking jade. The figurine comes with a black plastic stand topped with a red fabric, a gold decorative folding screen, and a wooden sign with Japanese characters on it. This set comes in a paper box.

Dog, or inu, is one of the twelve signs of Japanese Zodiac (Junishi). There is a sign for each year and a full cycle is repeated after 12 years. It is common to display the year's sign in the entrance or in the living room in Japan.

• Good condition. Some marks on the figurine. Discoloration on the back of the folding screen. Some stains on the red fabric. Writings on the paper box. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
