Vintage Wooden Japanese Daruma
This is a vintage Japanese daruma statue carved from wood. It is a traditional Japanese lucky charm and toy that imitates the figure of Daruma Daishi sitting in meditation. It is a visual representation of perseverance, hard work, luck, and setting goals. The belief is to fill in one eye with a wish or goal one wants granted or completed, then fill in the other eye when the wish comes true or the goal is realized. This daruma has no eyes and has holes where gems, beads, etc can be inserted.
