Vtg Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri 

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period, when sake began to be consumed daily.
This particular white sake bottle has a barrel shape with a metal-and-rattan handle. It has blue and red characters with a leaf design on the outside, and a signature on the bottom. There is an opening on the top with a lid, and a spout around the bottom with a cork, though it seems stuck. The lid has a cork wound on its lower part.
