We finally moved out of our old warehouse space in Nakamura Koen in Nagoya. We have a new place which just happens to be right next to my house. Our new space gives Chidori Vintage plenty of space to grow and expand our inventory selection. In our old place we could not sell larger items like Tansu Chests, Butsudan, etc. Since moving in April, we have expanded our inventory from 3100 items to 4100 and we will continue to add to it. We are also going to open up the warehouse by appointment to customers in the local Nagoya area who would like to buy Japanese antiques. We have expanded our selection of Japanese Pottery, lacquerware, Buddhist and Shinto items, and more. If you are in the Nagoya area or ever visit Japan, please give us a call or email. We will be happy to show you around. Here are some shots of the new place. Sorry if some of the shots are a bit cluttered. The Japanese antique business is a messy business as everything comes in very raw and has to be cleaned up.
This is our new sign and a view from the big front doors. The middle section is our assortment of recycles boxes. We try to recycle as much as possible so we are not contributing to all the extra waste in the world.
Here is our photography and listing station. The warehouse is still a work in progress and we are adding to it regularly. Its a slow process because the business is so busy everyday. We are constantly bringing in Japanese antiques and collectables from all over Japan and orders are going out.
