Vintage Japanese Lucky Hammer 

This is a vintage Japanese wooden lucky hammer or Uchide no kozuchi. It is painted with a shimmering gold color and has green silk tassels attached. On the front side is a hand-painted image of a lush pine tree. On the back side of the lucky hammer are black kanji writing (it appears this was maybe a gift given for an engagement). 

The lucky/magic hammer is a legendary object that is said to grant wishes. it is often seen being carried by one of the Seven Lucky Gods, Daikokuten.
