Vtg Medal

This is a vintage Japanese medal of The Order of the Rising Sun. It is the 8th Class design. It consists of a pendant with three pawlonia leaves and flowers and a fabric piece with red and white stripes with a clip at the back for attachment. Please note that the ring attaching these two parts is missing. There are inscriptions on the back of the medal. The item comes in a lacquered wood box with inscriptions on top.

  • Box approx. 6 cm wide x 9.5 cm long x 2.2 cm thick
  • Good condition considering its age. The ring between the fabric and the metal part is missing. Discoloration. Dirty white. Marks and scratches. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
  • Acquired at the famous Osu antique market in Nagoya, Japan
