Japanese Lacquered Lidded Fumibako Box w/Box
This is a Japanese lacquered wooden letter box (fumibako). It is traditionally used to store letters and important documents. This particular box has a loosely fitted extra bottom piece for hiding confidential materials. The sleek box features a simple lined design on the lid in the glossy caramel-brown color unique to shunkei-nuri lacquerware. The original box is included.
