Vtg Japanese Hanging Scroll Kakejiku

This is a vintage Japanese hang scroll Kakejiku. This picture is Okuni-Nushi God. He is sitting on a rice bag. He is the god of nation-building who created a great power in Izumo. The letters written on the side are Ameho no Mikoto 83rd Grandson, Izumo Taisha Kyokokuzo, Senke Sonson Enshrinement Letter (天穂命83代孫 出雲大社教国造 千家尊尊祀謹書). Kakejiku is a Japanese picture or calligraphy mounted on a piece of paper. Kakejiku was a tool to spread Buddhism in Japan. It has been integrated with Japanese culture as interior decoration. Tokokake is used at the Tokonoma in tatami room. Chakake has Zen words used in the tea ceremony room. Buddha-kake is used in the Buddhist altar.
