Vintage Japanese Daruma Piggy Bank
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic daruma piggy bank/coin bank, or chokin bako. It is a traditional Japanese lucky charm and toy that imitates the figure of Daruma Daishi sitting in meditation. It is a visual representation of perseverance, hard work, and luck. This daruma has plastic gem eyes. It is brown with a subtle brushed pattern and has a rubber stopper in the bottom for easy access to the inside.
