Japanese Bamboo Chasen Whisk for Tea Ceremony
This vintage Japanese matcha tea whisk, called chasen, is crafted by hand from a single piece of bamboo and is a crucial utensil used in traditional Japanese tea ceremony (sado).
It has a natural dried brown bamboo color, while a black thread secures the whisk's outer band in place.
This particular type is called hyappondate and has between 80 and 95 bristles and is the standard producing fine, fluffy foam. It comes with the original plastic container.
