Antique Japanese Court Lady Hina Doll 

This Japanese antique court lady (nagae choushi) ohinasama doll dressed in a white and red hakama-style kimono is the perfect addition to any existing hina set or adds gorgeous Eastern flair to any home decor. She typically holds a sake decanter with a long handle, but this piece is missing. This doll is standing. The head and hands are made of wood covered with gofun. The head is removable.

The Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) in Japan is a traditional event celebrated on March 3rd every year. Its purpose is primarily to wish for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Hina dolls are an essential part of the festival and are prominently displayed in homes during it.
