Katagami Kimono Stencils
Japanese Katagami are traditional paper stencils used to dye kimono and other textiles. Sourced throughout Japan, many date to the Meiji Era (1868–1912) and were handcrafted from layers of mulberry paper waterproofed with persimmon tannin (kakishibu). Today, they are prized for their intricate designs and are popular with collectors, artists, and interior decorators.
