Vtg Japanese Wooden Decorative Plaque

This is a vintage Japanese wooden souvenir plaque from Shiga. It has an Igeta-shaped frame and a panel made with small bamboo strips compressed and glued together. There are conscriptions on both sides of the panel,  printed on the front and handwritten on the back. The frame has a sticker and handwritten letters.

Ema is a small wooden plaque used at Shinto shrines, and sometimes Buddhist temples, that worshipers can write their wishes, hopes, and dreams on. Once written, it is hung on a special wooden stand or tree where the kami (spirits or gods) are thought to receive them.
