Japanese Tea Ceremony Set Chabako

This vintage Japanese tea ceremony set Chabako is a wooden box used for carrying a set of tea ceremony utensils. It contains a set of basic tea utensils such as a green tea bowls and tea whisk. The front panel opens via an iron metal locking key latch at the top. The iron metal handle on the top panel makes it easy to carry around.There are two removable shelves.

    • water waste bowl (Kensui): 15.5 cm wide x 9 cm tall
    • water jug (Mizusashi): 15 cm wide x 16.5 cm tall
    • tea caddy (Natsume): 6.5 cm wide x 6.5 cm tall
    • tea whisk (Chasen): 5 cm wide x 11.5 cm long
    • ladle (Hishaku): 5.5 cm wide x 41 cm long x 5 cm tall
    • whisk or ladle stand (Futaoki): 5.5 cm wide x 5 cm tall
    • tea scoop (Chashaku): 18.5 cm long
  • Green tea bowl: Classic oribe ware. Beige with dark green drip and brown designs.
  • Water waste bowl: Light gray with dark gray design.
  • Water jug: Porcelain with a white glaze and bright blue and yellow leaf and vine patterns.
  • Whisk stand: Kyo ware. beige with chrysanthemum and wisteria flowers.
  • Natsume: Dark brown lacquer over wood with gold makie pine trees.
