Vintage Japanese Kabuto Helmet Display w/ Lacquered Wood Box

This is a vintage Japanese decorative metal samurai helmet, or kabuto. It has metal decorative maedate. The curled sides, or fukikaeshi, depict chrysanthemum floral motifs in metal pieces and the ornament at the top is a dragon. It has an orange pair of silk tassels tied at the base. It can be disassembled. This helmet comes in a black lacquered wooden box with purple wash paper lining that is used as part of the display. The front of the box has a beautiful gold makie design of plum blossoms, pine trees, and chrysanthemums. In order to help the helmet stand up, there is a small stand as well as a decorative purple cloth to put beneath it.
