Japanese Bamboo Water Scoop Hishaku for Tea Ceremony
This is a vintage Japanese traditional tea ceremony utensil called hishaku. It is used for scooping hot water from a teapot or chagama into the matcha chawan tea bowl. This ladle is made entirely of bamboo with a long handle and a finely hallowed-out scoop, while leaving it lightweight and easy to hold.
