Japanese Suiseki Viewing Stone Ornament
This item is a vintage Japanese viewing stone, also called Suiseki. This statue is a cut of what appears to be an amethyst geode (not confirmed). It is firmly attached to a rectangular wooden stand. The purple-colored crystals are prominent and dark purple on the front while the back side looks like a typical stone.
In traditional Japanese culture, Suiseki are rocks, big and small, appreciated for their natural aesthetics and decorative values. This suiseki stone makes for a gorgeous centerpiece or mantelpiece.
