Vintage Japanese Hanging Scroll Weights, Fuchin
This is a pair of vintage Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku) weights, or fuchin. Fuchin is a decoration that hangs on both ends of the bottom of a hanging scroll. It's a decoration as well as weighs the scroll down to keep it straight and steady.
This item features natural agate stones in a sphere shape with a banded agate pattern in a greenish-beige and splashes of classic orange-brown. Both ends of each stone has a metal cap to protect the edges from chipping/wearing away. It has deep green tassels with a gold accent underlay at the head.
