Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts, including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food.
This shallow lidded wooden box is made for incense. It is a natural wood color. There are kanji in black on the lid and a sticker inside the lid. It is perfect for general storage, DIY, and decoration.
