Vintage Japanese Wagasa Umbrella
Whether paired with a beautiful kimono or in the hands of an elegant Geisha, Japanese traditional umbrellas (wagasa) are a popular fashion accessory as well as an eye-catching home decor piece.
This paper umbrella is simple with red paper. The headpiece at the very top is a yellow vinyl fabric. The inner frame is dark brown and tied together with gold string. The handle is made of slender natural bamboo lacquered with black with white vinyl cord and a metal cap. Closed, the outer ribs are lacquered black with red tips.
