Vintage Japanese Ceramic Oil Lantern for Tea Ceremony
This is a vintage traditional Japanese ceramic oil lantern accessory used for evening tea ceremonies and in dim lighting. The dark green pot holds oil and a long wick is placed under the lid (partly sticking out the front and dangling out the back via the hole in the black stand). When the wick burns and drops ash, it is collected by the green ceramic plate beneath.
The stand brushed with black lacquer has storage space under a lid for keeping the items when not in use. The wick and oil are not included.
