Vintage Japanese Folding Fan Sensu
This is a miniature traditional Japanese folding fan called sensu. You can use this when it's hot or as decoration. This fan is made with a natural bamboo frame (with lacquered ends) and sturdy washi paper. It features a traditional shochikubai design (plum blossom, pine tree, bamboo) with splashes of red and silver on a white background. The back side is plain white.
Shochikubai is a winter motif that embodies resilience and rebirth. It is used to show that despite the harsh winter conditions, strength and beauty prevail.
