Japanese Copper Brazier Fire Pit Hibachi Pair w/Box

This is a pair of Japanese vintage copper brazier fire pits, also known as hibachi. The metal brazier has three feet, and these are attached to a wooden stand.  It features textured stripe designs on the upper and lower parts of the brazier, and two carved cloud-like patterns with some signatures between them. It is dark brown on the side with gold on the rim and cloud patterns. The metal used for this brazier is called Sentoku-do or Sentoku copper, and its origin is the Sentoku era in China. This pair comes with the original wooden box with an inscription.

Hibachi has been used in the past as a heating method, but is also more commonly used today for cooking/grilling as well as a prevalent fixture in the tea ceremony.
There are three main types of braziers: wooden, ceramic, and metal.
