Vintage Japanese Wooden Hitsu Bucket
This is a traditional Japanese lidded wooden bucket called hitsu made for storing water, rice, or other food products. It is also commonly used for making pickles. Stout, sturdy, and a natural cypress brown color, it is made from precisely cut slats of sawara cypress wood held together by four thin twisted copper metal wires via tension. This beautiful classic piece is also perfect for adding traditional flair to any home or office decor.
