Japanese Lacquered Lidded Fumibako Box
This is a Japanese lacquered wooden letter box (Fumibako). It is traditionally used to store letters and important documents. This particular box has a divider that enables storing efficiently stationary items such as pens. The box features a simple lined design on the lid along with some inscriptions in Japanese. The inscriptions inside the box say "celebration of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Tokai Bank". This classic brown shunkei-nuri lacquer piece is a beautiful decorative and functional addition to any home or office space.
