Vintage Japanese Ceramic Suiban for Ikebana Flower Arrangement
This is a vintage ceramic Japanese flower vase, or suiban. It is glazed a light blue matte and beige color with a slightly rough texture. This suiban is small and angular and stands on two bracket legs.
Suiban means "water tray" and typically houses the spiked weight (kenzan) that hold ikebana flower stems in place, but can also be used as a base for a flower pot, or even a potted bonsai.
