Antique Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Offering Table
Coated with black and radiant gold lacquer and decorated with intricately hand-carved traditional designs, this small, lightweight antique Japanese Buddhist offering table is a main feature in any home altar. The top panel of this table is missing but can be replaced with a silk cloth or glass piece to protect from wear, dust, and stains.
There are two types of offering tables in this style: Maejyoku and Uwajyoku. Uwajoku is placed in front of Amidanyorai and is used for a flower vase, a rice cup, and a kasha incense burner.
Maejoku is placed in front of the Shumidan and is used for "3 Gusoku" (candle stand, flower vase, and incense burner).
