Vtg Japanese Kaga Ningyo Wooden Figurine
This is a vintage Japanese Kaga ningyo, a folk toy from Kanazawa, Ishikawa. This decorative figurine represents a chubby baby in a fireman or Hikeshi-like costume of the Edo era. It holds a Matoi or a banner symbolizing a firemen's group. The baby's hairstyle, tying his hair on the top and near the ears, is a common style for children in the Edo era.
