Japanese Wooden Haribako Sewing Chest

This is a Japanese sewing box, also called Haribako. Finished with a natural dark brown color, it displays a gorgeous rippled natural wood grain. This tansu chest has four differently-sized drawers with simple metal hardware. A panel in the lid opens to reveal two compartments. There is also a slot on the side that was initially to house a small straight ruler. This beautiful piece can also be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.

  • Good condition. Some scratches. Many chips and scuffs. Water damage on lid. Hinges on top are broken. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
