Vintage Japanese Wooden Oke Bucket for Bath
This is a vintage handcrafted traditional Japanese wooden bucket made for scoping water in a bath like a ladle for bathing. Stout, sturdy, and a natural brown color, it is made from precisely cut slats of wood held together by one twisted steel wire via tension.
Japanese bathing practices use this type of ladle as well as a wooden stool and are a common sight at onsen hot spring baths. First, one sits and fully washes themselves outside of the bath, and then soaks in the tub afterward for relaxation.
