Vintage Japanese Shinto Altar Ceremony Photograph
This is a Japanese vintage small black and white photograph of what appears to be politicians or local government/committee members praying before a Shinto offering altar. This ceremony could be for a variety of things, including the cleansing of a property before building, the celebration of harvest, the opening or completion of a property, town festivals, etc. Shinto offerings are almost always presented on raised wooden trays called sanpo/sanbou.
