Vintage Japanese Wooden Snack Bowl

This is a Japanese vintage lidded snack bowl, or kashiki. This brown bowl is handcrafted from a piece of solid wood and retains the natural look without any sort of lacquer or paint. There are some black markings on the lid, perhaps drawings, but they've worn off and are indiscernible.
Kashiki/kashibachi are typically used for serving snacks, such as senbei crackers or sweets, to guests in one's home, business, etc. It is also commonly used in tea ceremonies to serve and display traditional sweets. It can also be used for multipurpose functions.
