Japanese Calligraphy Brush
This is a vintage Japanese calligraphy brush, or fude in Japanese. According to the inscriptions on the black handle, this brush is size 6 (roku-go). It is called Kyokuhokin, by the brush maker Akashiya (Nara).
Brushes are traditionally used for Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) and for practicing Japanese character handwriting (Shuji). They can also be used for traditional Nihonga paintings.

- Good condition considering its age. Used item. Some of the bristles on the outside part of the brush are broken. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
