Japanese Lidded Wooden Storage Box Set
Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food.
This small, narrow, and shallow lidded wooden box is made for juzu/nenju (Buddhist prayer beads). It is a natural wood color. There are kanji in gold on the lid and a hole at the back side for pushing up what would be a paper insert that holds the new prayer beads. It is perfect for general storage, DIY, and decoration.
