Vtg Japanese Ceramic Flower Vase Kabin
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic flower vase, or kabin. This round vase has a melting glass glaze from the top to around the middle. This natural glaze is a brown and pale green mixture and has various thicknesses made during burning. It has no glaze from the middle to the bottom, and the base is chalk-like beige. The signature is on the bottom. This small-mouth vase is made for a single flower (ichirin zashi) or a few thin-stemmed flowers/branches. The simplicity of the design makes this an elegant choice for minimalist ikebana arrangements.
