Vtg Girl Festival Hina Matsuri Wooden Court Musician Doll 

This vintage Japanese wooden court musician doll wears a gorgeous orange and light brown hakama kimono with a a family crest pattern and a small black hat. This is a quality hina doll made of silk and wood and the head is removable as it was handcrafted separately from the body with a wood base and gofun, a white chalk commonly used in crafting doll faces made from the shells of oysters, clams, etc. This doll sits on a wooden lacquered stand decorated with maki-e art on the front. This elegant doll is an excellent addition to any Hina doll collection.

The Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) in Japan is a traditional event celebrated on March 3rd every year, primarily to wish for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Hina dolls are an essential part of Hinamatsuri and are prominently displayed in homes during the festival.
