Vtg Japanese Lacquered Wooden Tansu Storage Chest
This is a vintage Japanese storage chest, also called tansu. Lacquered with classic glossy black, it is decorated with a makie kikyo flower and leaves in gold and green. The center of the flower also contains raden (mother-of-pearl/abalone shell). This tansu chest has two drawers with decorative metal hardware. This beautiful piece can also be used for storing sewing supplies, jewelry, or other trinkets.
