Vintage Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri
This is an vintage Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a kayoi-tokkuri and is used to pour and store sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed daily. This bottle is an off-white color with a handpainted indigo blue peony flower. This particular tokkuri bottle has an elegant long neck with a rounded lip and is an excellent choice for a flower vase or general home decor.
