Vtg Japanese Ceramic Teapot

This is a small vintage Japanese ceramic teapot/kettle, or kyusu. It is glazed white with brown rings, and it features a pine needle design on the lid and on the side. It has a wound reed handle with a metal wire base. The handle is removable. This pot can also be used to serve sake.
Kyusu teapots come in a few shapes, the most common being ones with a handle crafted into the side. They are typically smaller than western teapots as Japanese tea is typically served in smaller quantities and often steeped multiple times in one service.
