Vintage Japanese Small Ceramic Plate
This vintage Japanese small leaf-shaped plate is made of ceramic pottery and has a matte brown glaze with raised bumps around the veins of the leaf, and an unglazed beige kanji character at the center. The calligraphy kanji displayed means "moon". This type of plate is called meimeizara and is the perfect size to serve wagashi, traditional Japanese sweets. It also serves as a plate for side dishes in a Japanese meal set.
