Vtg Japanese Lacquerware Snack Bowl Kashiki w/Box

This is a vintage Japanese lacquered wooden snack bowl or Kashiki. It is an octagon container with a handle made of two crossed strips. It is caramel brown, true to the shunkei-nuri style of lacquerware. Kashiki is a bowl or container used to hold sweets served at Japanese tea ceremonies. It can be used for household use, decoration, and also for storing small items like jewelry or coasters. It comes with the original paper box.
