This is a vintage Japanese wooden lacquered decorative tray, or Obon. It is small and the perfect size for jewelry, key, small trinkets, and also can be used as a money tray. Lacquered a glossy black, this tray has a gold rim as well as gold makie cherry blossoms, more specifically shidarezakura, a type of willowy, hanging cherry blossom tree.
