Vtg Japanese Traditional Kokeshi Doll
This is a vintage Japanese wooden kokeshi doll figurine. Kokeshi are simple wooden Japanese dolls with no arms or legs that have been crafted for more than 150 years as a toy for children. This large kokeshi doll is black with red maple momiji maple leaves and handcarved designs on the body. The face is cute with small eyes and pink lips, and has hand-painted brush strokes for hair.
