Japanese Bamboo Wagashi Sweets Pick

This is a vintage Japanese sweets pick/knife set made of bamboo. Called kashikiri or kashi-youji in Japanese, these small knife-like utensils are used to cut and eat soft wagashi sweets such as mochi during tea ceremonies. The bamboo is twisted to have the knife end facing down for cutting and the handle end level with a hand for easy use.
