Vtg Japanese Shippoyaki Chopstick Rest Hashioki
This Japanese-style chopstick rest set of 5 is composed of cloisonne ware (Shippoyaki), formed by coating a gold, silver, or copper metal base with a colorful glass-like glaze and then firing it at a high temperature. The Hashioki design is shaped like a bamboo shoot and comes in a variety of shades. Hashioki, which translates to "chopsticks put down," is the Japanese word for chopstick rest.
