Vintage Japanese Ceramic Small Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic small bowl (kobachi). In a round, slightly angled shape, this bowl is mostly white and blue with pine trees, peony flowers (botan), and playing children of Tang Dynasty China (karako), a popular decorative motif in Japan that symbolizes longevity and health for children. It is the right size for side dishes such as small salads, steamed dishes (vegetables, fish, tofu), small portions of fried foods, and desserts. It is also the perfect size for single servings of sashimi.
