Vintage Japanese Buddhist Incense Container Kogo 

This is a vintage Japanese incense container, or Kogo, used in Buddhist altars. A kogo is a small container with a lid and is used for keeping powder-type or woodchip-type incense for Buddhist ceremonies. It is a glossy black color. The lid sits flush on the top and screws closed.
